RED IS THE COLOUR OF THE SEASON

PROTEGE (2007)
– 4 out of 5 stars

I went to watch Protege today. It’s about the drugs industry today, especially in Hong Kong and how it affects the different parties: the sellers, the producers, the users and the third parties. Some are real eye-openers. The movie views things in a very economical viewpoint, like how if there’s no demand for drugs, there’d be no supply. Some of the scenes were very bloody too, one of which reminded me of Prison Break? You know, when Abruzzi chops off T-Bag’s wrist? Something similar happened but this time, someone’s wrist gothammered off. Some other disgusting scene happened too but I guess you’ll have to watch the show to find out. After all, it’s not “the most watched Chinese New Year movie in Asia” for nothing.
