I saw The Breakfast Club, a 1985 film that has been regarded as a cult classic due to its influence on coming-of-age films ever since. It revolves around five teenagers who come from completely different cliques but end up in detention one Saturday morning. As the day passes, they find out that they are actually more similar than they thought they were.
A brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. That’s how different they were, but no matter how, the teenage years seem to be the most screwed up years and they face the same problems. The only difference is how we deal with it, how we show it and who we hang out with. Very thought provoking even though I think I’m past the high school age. But as you know, high school never ends.
You take the pieces of the dreams that you have
Cos you don’t like the way they seem to be going
You cut them up and spread them out on the floor
You’re full of hope as you begin rearranging
Put it all back together
But any way you look at this
The lovers are losing
