Set in 1958, this French romantic comedy focuses on Rose Pamphyle (Deborah Francois), who auditions to be secretary to Louis Échard (Romain Duris) and ends up being trained to be take part in a speed typing competition.
I can’t remember the last time I saw a French movie and I love it! Aren’t the French charming? They exude such poise even when insulting one another. Deborah Francois is really shines as Rose; her one-finger typing is really adorable as is her multi-coloured typing. The expression in her eyes conveys determination and spite all at once during the competition. This is how “typing with conviction” looks like. Although the ending is slightly predictable, I still think it is a good movie to watch.
