– 3 and a half out of 5 stars

It’s quite a thinking film.

The whole plot is there but I guess the thrill is having to stay till the end to see whether the good will prevail over evil. I was like so worried if Ryan Gosling would use the false evidence to prevent Anthony Hopkins from walking free after no evidence was found against him shooting his wife, I was silently chanting “no, no, no…”? But the ending was just brilliant, man. This means even the smartest can’t escape sometimes, or rather, in the end.

To quote this GV brochure; “In a tense duel of intellect and strategy, Crawford and Beachum both learn that a “fracture” can be found in every ostensibly perfect facade.” Sounds so deep right, I feel more intellectual just by typing it…
