STARING BLANKLY

VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA (2008)
– 3 and a half out of 5 stars

It’s essentially about how people at different stages in love and different perspectives of love deal with love. Vicky’s the more uptight one; she’s built lots of rules and prefers a structured life. Cristina’s the more carefree one; she doesn’t like rules and likes to do things on impulse. While on vacation in Barcelona, they get prepositioned by Juan Antonio and the movie shows how they deal with Juan Antonio and his psycho-ex, Maria Elena. It’s quite an eye opener, especially when Cristina meets Maria Elena, and the development of their relationship. You’ll never look at a love triangle the same way again.
