BEFORE MIDNIGHT (2013)
5 out of 5 stars
Oh my god, I’m in love with this movie. Can they just make one every nine years?
After meeting on a train 18 years ago, Jesse and Celine are now married with twin girls. What happens now? Are they still the same people from the train or have love and ideas given way to practicality?
It’s been a few years since I saw the first two movies and their chemistry never fails to amaze me. Like the other two movies, it’s just Jesse and Celine talking and discussing about any topic that comes to their minds. It’s kind of cute and funny in a way that Celine pretends to be a bimbo who is interested in Jesse because he’s a writer. I almost cannot bear to watch when things turn slightly sour. Every couple has their moments, I guess.
I probably don’t do much justice with this review so do yourself a favour, watch Before Sunrise, Before Sunset then Before Midnight. It will be the best experience you will ever have.
2 DAYS IN PARIS (2007)
– 4 out of 5 stars
I went to watch 2 Days In Paris starring Julie Delpy (as Marion) and Adam Goldberg (as Jack) at The Picturehouse! It’s been some time since I popped over to The Cathay and it’s still as aloof as ever, but the addition of Gramophone kinda spiced things up a little on Level 1. Especially when they were playing Hairspray – nearly couldn’t stop myself from singing and dancing along. Talk about shake and shimmy.
Anyway, more about the movie. It’s about this couple traveling together and they decided to stop over at Paris (Marion’s hometown) for two days; thus the title. You’ll be drawn towards the witty dialogue between them and the constant air of sarcasm, skeptism, frankness and crudeness between them. It becomes worst when Jack starts meeting Marion’s ex-lovers all over Paris and these encounters will having you laughing out loud. Like really. You should really go catch it!
