FAST & FURIOUS 6 (2013)
3 and a half out of 5 stars
The gang is back!
Dom and the guys have retired after the events from Fast Five but reunite again when Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) offers to clear their names in exchange for taking down Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), who has been presumed dead.
There is definitely more action now. Gina Carano (Haywire) is Hobbs’ partner and she really packs a punch. But Michelle Rodriguez is not to be trifled with either. The two of them plus Gal Gadot definitely give the fairer sex an edge. Too bad about Elsa Pataky, come on, give Mrs. Chris Hemsworth a chance to fight!
The franchise has always been about cars and we were treated to some cool cars, particularly those modified cars that Luke Evans drives. The biggest WTF moment happens at the highway with the tank. I will not reveal it so keep a lookout for it if you watch it. It is as unbelievable as it is jaw-dropping.
Comic relief comes mainly from Roman (Tyrese).
Roman: Better hide your baby oil.
Hobbs: Better hide your big-ass forehead.

THE RAVEN (2012)
– 3 and a half out of 5 stars
Set in 19th century Baltimore, the movie tells a fictionalized account of the last days of Edgar Allan Poe and his encounter with a serial killer whose methods mirrors those in his stories of mystery and macabre.
I entered the cinema wondering why the movie was slapped with a M18 rating. I discovered the reason why a few minutes later. Turns out the partly-severed neck wasn’t the worst thing. Wow, you know sometimes you enter a cinema not expecting it to be quite as thrillingly scary, well, this was it. The sleuthing with John Cusack and Luke Evans was good but the gore – not really.
THE THREE MUSKETEERS (2011)
– 3 out of 5 stars
In my opinion, he’s the only one that looks better than Orlando Bloom with a moustache. Logan Lerman looks really young among all the other actors and since I haven’t read the book since Primary School and no matter how many times I’ve heard it, I can’t pronounce his character’s name – “D’Artagnan”. Give me Aramis anytime.
It seemed a little too action-packed, probably to factor in the 3D effects and as much as I liked a strong female presence, or girl power, I didn’t really get how Milady (Milla Jovovich) fitted in. Thank goodness for Luke Evans – who looks even hotter with glasses!

This is a story of how Theseus (Cavill), a mortal, was chosen by the Gods to defend his people against King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), a ruthless ruler who is after the Epirus Bow to release the titans and destroy humanity.
This show was pretty bloody too. But it was expected because the people behind 300 brought you this! Henry Cavill is sooo chiselled! He’s your future Superman! But of course, I’ve already set my sights on Luke Evans. The Gods are really golden – literally. And pity there’s only one female – Athena (Isabel Lucas) – amongst them. They should have let her done more action scenes! Kellan Lutz (Emmett from the Twilight Saga) is Poseidon – but you can only see his face 35% of the time. Blame it on the mask.
Here’s another collage because the posters were simply beautiful and Luke Evans is so hot!
