Vampires! Screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted). >>>I’M SOLD.

The movie is fictionally set during the lifetime of Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) where vampires are slowly taking over America and Lincoln is a vampire hunter. The vampires are the monster-like kind – multiple rows of teeth, distorted facial features and some even have the ability to be invisible.

Personally, I liked the parts where Lincoln was training to become a hunter and the backstory of Henry (Dominic Cooper). According to this film, vampires are not allowed to kill vampires (their own kind) – what an interesting theory! Apparently all the other shows I’ve watched are bloodthirsty because they do kill one another. Benjamin Walker is really handy with that axe! I guess the fact that he is 6″3 helps too!

The final train scene was simply brilliant – as the audience, I’m wondering if it’s real or a trap or a trap that turned out to be real. In the end, I guess it’s good to keep some silverware at home – you never know when you might need them.

***Did you know Benjamin Walker is married to Mamie Gummer (Meryl Streep’s daughter)?
