Miley Cyrus stars as a private investigator who goes undercover in a college sorority. Oh, college!

Well, such flicks are a welcomed change from all the Oscar-worthy movies now showing in cinemas. Not only is there Miley Cyrus, there are familiar faces from world of TV. Mike O’Malley (Burt Hummel, Glee), Matthew Settle (Rufus Humphrey, Gossip Girl) Joshua Bowman (Daniel Grayson, Revenge) are in the movie alongside Alexis Knapp, recently seen in Pitch Perfect.

I cannot remember much of the plot (oops) but I would say it depicts sorority life rather accurately because majority of them behave like bimbos and everyone has something to hide. That means everyone seems suspicious at first, but do your homework and you guys could solve this like Miley Cyrus.

Things I now know about Justin Bieber:
1. He was born on 1 March 1994 at 12:56AM on a Tuesday.
2. He’s left-handed.
3. He can play the drums, guitar and piano.
4. He has nice forearms.

Yup, that’s what I “learned” from watching this biopic/concert. Well, I wouldn’t say it’s much of a concert because you only see large snippets of the performance. But it was useful in gaining insight on one of the world’s biggest popstars now. Personally, I liked those home videos where a really young and adorable Justin plays the drums and churns out decent beats on a wooden chair.

His signature Bieber hair.

Then you get to the meteoric rise of the popstar and you can really see his dedicated (rabid/obsessed) fans following him around until he has to cancel his appearances due to security reasons. I also love the fact that he and his crew go around giving free tickets to people who cannot afford them or didn’t get them because they were snatched up like hot cakes. And he makes it a must to get up girl on the stage whenever he sings One Less Lonely Girl, then he serenades her, puts his arms around her and make her and everyone in the audience hyperventilate.

There are lots of cameos and performances by other artistes such as Usher, Sean Kingston, Miley Cyrus and Jaden Smith. OMG CAN I JUST SAY THAT JADEN SMITH IS SO FREAKING CUTE ESPECIALLY WHEN HE’S GOT HIS AFRO HAIR!!! It’s wayyy bigger than his head! I like his blinking heart t-shirt too!

Caught Sex and the City 2 and I must say it would appeal more to the ladies.

It’s almost two years since Carrie and Big tied the knot and Carrie is trying to keep the sparkle on her marriage. Samantha is still Samantha, and is busy trying to reverse time by popping over 40 pills a day and rubbing “magic lotions” to where it matters so that she has the body and stamina of a 35-year-old. Charlotte has a nanny that wouldn’t wear a bra and is afraid that her husband might go by the Law, the “Jude Law” (nice one!). Miranda, on the other hand, is suffering discrimination from her alpha-male boss and her job security is on the line. What better way to escape all the stress of the city than escape to Abu Dhabi (or Morocco, where it was actually filmed)? With Samantha’s PR connections, they enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip and at the same time, being treated like royalty.

Overall, the movie was all shoes and dresses – a visual treat – but it was slightly long at over 2 hours. The 80s flashback is hilarious! Miranda’s hair. Carrie’s Madonna-inspired outfit. However, parts where Samantha appeared were all hilarious because she kept making menopausal and dirty jokes. You literally LOL at the part where he meets her “Lawrence” while at Abu Dhabi on their date. OMFG! 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

BOLT (2008)
– 3 and a half out of 5 stars

I have to say Shaw Lido is quite my favourite place, especially when their giant screen repeatedly play trailers/MV from Twilight. It has the largest 3D theatre in Singapore and I saw Bolt (3D) right there! The 3D experience is slightly different; you can see many “layers” and somehow, it pops out of the screen and it looks like it’s right in front of you, like the effect of pop-up storybooks and cards.

Anyway, the movie Bolt is SO CUTE! I’ve already almost fell in love the hamster when I saw the trailer and he’s so bloody fat and cute! Rhino, the hamster, definitely has the best lines in the movie and the attitude with “let it begin!”, “I’ll snap his neck” and his thing about stealth. Oh, there’s this part where he gets so excited, he fogs up his plastic ball with his breath? So funny!! Bolt is another funny one. He grows up thinking he’s a dog with super powers altered to protect his “person” Penny. So he sets out into the real world to destroy the Green-Eyed Man when Penny is being held captive. Such a superdog is actually afraid of styrofoam packet peanuts! Thankfully, there’s a streetwise cat named Mittens, to enlighten him and teach him the ways of dogkind.
